Gewurztraminer Rangen de Thann Clos-Saint-Urbain
Bien que le nez de ce Gewurztraminer Rangen de Thann Grand Cru soit encore un peu fermé, il révèle toute la complexité du vin : des arômes de fumée, de pierre à fusil et de tourbe. En bouche, on découvre une structure puissante et riche, où l'on retrouve à nouveau des notes de pierre, de cendres et d'épices. L'harmonie de ce millésime 2013 repose sur une belle acidité, une légère douceur et des tannins présents. La finale est encore en retenue, mais laisse entrevoir un avenir prometteur pour ce vin.
Terroir : cultivé juste au-dessus de la rivière Thur. Malgré son exposition très ensoleillée, le Rangen est situé à l'entrée d'une vallée plus froide et à une altitude plus élevée. Les vents prédominants descendent la vallée et peuvent causer des problèmes de coulure pendant la floraison, en particulier pour un cépage fragile comme le Gewurztraminer, jusqu'au mois de juin. Les vignes situées près de la rivière bénéficient d'un effet thermique important et sont plus abritées des vents. La roche volcanique présente dans le sol est riche en éléments minéraux, qui s'accumulent principalement dans la partie basse de la pente en raison de l'érosion. Le Gewurztraminer profite de cette richesse pour s'éloigner de son profil variétal typique.
